I am continually looking for highly motivated PhD and MPhil students, as well as research assistants, with a strong research background and a passion for computer vision and machine learning.

Prospective PhD Students

Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in doing research with me. There are various scholarships from the university and some pure research projects available for talented PhD applicants. More detailed information about the application can be found on the HDR Application Process page, which also applies to MPhil applicants.

• There are usually 3 (or 2) rounds of scholarship applications each year (see the Application Deadlines section on the HDR Application Process page).
• Do not panic if you miss a university deadline. Please still feel free to contact me, as an out-of-round application may be possible.
• English language requirements are mandatory.
• Please contact me before making a submission.

UNSW Undergraduate and Master’s Students

• I usually supervise a limited number of students on their Honours or Master’s (coursework) thesis each year. If you are interested in working with me, please email me your transcript and CV as early as possible.
• Some project topics can be found in the TMS, but my list there is usually incomplete or outdated. Please feel free to propose other projects relevant to my research topics.
• You should be highly self-motivated and have a very good WAM, strong programming skills, or solid research experience. Please highlight these in your email.
• If you are a UNSW Honours or Master’s student interested in pursuing a PhD with me, I strongly recommend first undertaking an Honours or Master’s research project under my supervision, as I typically prioritize candidates I have worked with directly.

Postdocs

• Postdoctoral opportunities are occasionally available. Candidates with a strong research track record in my areas of interest are encouraged to get in touch.

Research Assistants

• I occasionally have RA positions (contracted and paid) on short-term projects. These require very strong research and/or programming skills.
